          , a fantastic photo booth company based in South and North Carolina. They offer a variety of services, from traditional photo booths to trendy 360 video booths. It was exciting to help them grow their online presence and reach more customers through SEO.

          Even though they already had some half decent on-page SEO implemented, we identified an opportunity for them to create better content to help fill in some of the holes on their website.

          Our first step was setting up their website with Google Search Console. If you’re not familiar, Search Console is like a backstage pass for your website—it helps Google crawl your site faster and lets you monitor its performance and technical health. It’s a must-have for any business serious about showing up in search results.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

          Next, we teamed up to create relevant content for their website. After brainstorming ideas, we decided to focus on their 360 photo booth service, specifically targeting a popular local venue in the competitive city of Charlotte, NC. The goal was clear: help 5 Star Memories rank for terms like “360 Photo Booth Charlotte NC” and even more specific searches, like “360 photo booth Cordial Rooftop Bar.”

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          This win is more than just a boost in rankings. It’s about connecting with local customers who are searching for a vendor familiar with their favorite venue. By sending strong local signals to Google, 5 Star Memories is now positioned to attract more clients in the Charlotte area and beyond.

          Utilizing data to make important decisions is one of the smartest things a business owner can do. With this data it can tell you what direction you should move in the future with many aspects of your business.

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

          In this article, we are going to look at a specific set of data from Google in addition to actual form lead data from a few event industry businesses over the past three years. This data will tell us the story of when people search for event industry services such as photo booths and DJs and when they take action to fill out a form on a website to inquire about booking an event industry service.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          The data set used in this analysis is from 2021 - 2023.  As always take this data with a grain of salt as this is looking at the US as a whole and not taking into consideration differences in geographical areas of the U.S.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
           ﻿
          &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      
          We broke down this data into three main segments: time of day, day of week, and month of year. We hope to find some answers for when to expect lead volume and use that data to help us understand why sometimes of the year, day, or week are lower volumes than others, while also to understanding when we should expect to put time, energy, and money into our marketing efforts.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Month of Year:
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          People search for different things at different times of the year. For example, early in the fall months, people will start to book late fall and winter events or holiday parties. In the winter and early spring, folks typically start to think about booking their vendors for the mid spring to early summer months.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          During the summer months such as July, August, and even early September, there are a lot of people on vacation already attending events, therefore they will usually wait until after all the summer fun is over to start searching for and booking vendors for their event.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          In December, a lot of people are dealing with holiday plans and are too busy or aren’t even thinking about booking vendors for their event.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          January tends to be the highest search volume and lead volume month of the year. As people return from the holidays and have their New Year’s resolution list in front of them, they’re looking to mark off all their tasks to plan for the events in spring and summer.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          In April, we see another spike as we are getting close to May and June events and those last minute leads start to roll in.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          We see the same trend that we see in April in October as folks booking those last minute vendors seemed to peek in October for the holiday events that are coming up.
         &#xD;

          Fridays and Saturdays tend to be the days with the lowest search volume and the lower lead volume as most people are preoccupied with ending their work week or traveling to events where they already have their vendors booked for events that weekend.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          As Sunday comes around, people have more time to browse online so the search volume and lead volume returns and starts to ramp up for the rest of the week.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          As expected, Monday is the highest search and lead volume day of the week as folks have their plan ready for the rest of the week and have gathered their thoughts from over the weekend. They have tasks ahead of them and motivation to get those vendors booked for the events they are planning.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Each day afterwards scale down to meet the Friday and Saturday lows as plans are mapped out and the week becomes filled with other tasks.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

          Some people think they need to advertise or promote 24/7. This data tells us that’s not exactly the truth.

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

          For the most part, you can expect lead volume to start picking up around 9:00 AM and start to drop off as we get close to the end of the working day at 5:00 PM. Then, as folks finished her drive home, eat their dinners and get settled in for the rest of the night they do find time to start searching again between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

          This data tells us when to expect people to start searching for your business and when to expect to spend energy and budget on your marketing efforts, as well as when not to spend.
         &#xD;

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

          For example, you can put your marketing efforts at a higher-level during months that you know when people are searching and take down your budgets or energy level during the months that there is low volume. Segmenting your marketing efforts and budget this way can help you save time and money.

           If you don’t already have one, you should make sure that your business has a Google Business Profile also known as GBP for short. Since most of the traffic on the Internet is on Google take advantage of attempting to get on the first page of search results within the maps section. This map section is where Google business profiles exist. If you do have a GBP, this is also a great time to reach out and get reviews from past customers, add photos to your GBP, make a few posts or even add some offers to your GBP.

Those are all great places to be to get eyeballs on your business from prospective clients however you don’t own those properties and your listing on those platforms can be taken down at any time without warning, explanation or even someone at that platform to speak with to get the listing reinstated. You are also at the mercy of those platform algorithms that may not show your business to all the people all the time. In many instances, your business will show up next to other similar businesses that can take potential customers to your competitors instead of you. When you have a website, you are in full control of your destiny.

           At the top of your website, you should have a phone number and a button that leads to a contact form. Don’t make your site visitors have to work to try to contact you. Having your phone number, city you operate in and even the address on the website helps send a local signal to Google, helping Google rank you better in the search results for local searches.

           Photos:
          &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            Having great photos on your website tells a story and helps customers know more about your services and the quality of your work. If you have to use stock photography for now that is ok, but nothing tells the story better than your own photos. If you don’t have your own photos, now put a plan in place to take photos The next time you are working so that you have a stockpile of photos for when you need them in the future. Something important about the photos you use that you should consider for your website is the naming of the photo file itself as well as what is called an alt image tag.
            &#xD;
          &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
          
            Google takes into consideration the name of the photo itself as that helps Google tell people with accessibility problems what that image is about. The same goes for the alt tag which is a little bit of code in the back end that tells Google how to display the image if there is sight impaired person using a computer and visiting your site.

           Testimonials and reviews are also a great way to reassure your website visitors that you have done business before and have done great work. People love to see what others have to say about the quality of your products and services. If you have Google reviews usually websites have a plugin or app that can import those reviews onto your website. This is another reason why you should be getting reviews on your GBP.
